EARTH AWARENESS DONATES $7500 IN INSTRUMENTS FROM BLUES
BASH PROCEEDS TO UNIVERSITY PARK
The 6th Annual Stephen Miller Memorial Blues Bash held on November
15, 2009 was a huge success, see video of this years instrument
presentation, 29 Guitars, Strings and Straps, 1 Electric Bass, 3
Small Amps, 4 Snare Drum Kits, 2 sets of Timbales, 2 Bell Kits,
LP Percussion Instruments and more were given to University Park
Elementary School.
Nathan Thorpe and his father Steve, went back to the Grade School
Nathan had gone to 15 years earlier and helped with the festivities
that day, the kids loved watching them play. The 4th graders danced
and sang the Locomotion for us. Yes It Was a VERY Special Day!
E.A.R.T.H. stands for Entertainers
Against Ruining Their Home A group of entertainment industry professionals,
dedicated to the preservation of creative outlets and natural experiences
for the youth of Central Florida. E.A.R.T.H. Awareness was created
to promote quality family time in a natural setting, with programs
in music, art, drama, planet-protecting education, and fun. The organization
raises funds to help with the "Stephen Miller Music in The Schools
Program" which is a direct-to-teacher classroom supply program
for art, music, and drama, programs in Central Florida schools. We
also do a series of Teen Events in cooperation with other area youth
programs. We want to make lasting memories of fun educational experiences,
and teach families and children how to make a peaceful difference
for the future.
The preservation of roots music is a key component to E.A.R.T.H.'S
programs.
